- My internal USR Sportster 36.6 Vi will not send or receive faxes with Procomm
- Plus for Windows 2.11, however, there is absolutely no problem with data
- transmission. I am using the newest wmodems.dat file from Datastorm, which
- includes the new definition for this modem. The error message received is
- "Serial Com or File System Failure". I have also tried every remedy suggested
- in the Procomm documentation.
-
- The Quicklink software supplied with the Sportster works flawlessly, so I know
- that the modem is capable of sending/receiving faxes in its current
- configuration, however, there are times when using Procomm would be more
- convenient. I have attempted to use the Init String and settings used in
- Quicklink when configuring Procomm, but to no avail...same error message.
-
- I am running Windows '95 on a Gateway 486 dx2/66V, and have had no problems
- using the modem with a PPP connection to my ISP. Likewise, there have also
- been no problems in using the modem with PCPLUS 2.0 for DOS. Of course all my
- successful connections using software other than Quicklink have been for data
- transmission.
-
- Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
-
- TIA,
- Robb
